Words of Wisdom

A reflection by Ann M. Hampton

Fear is Your Enemy

Written by Author: Ann M. Hampton2 min read

When I talk about fear being your enemy, I’m not talking about the fear you experience when you encounter certain dangers or even the reverential fear of God. The fear I am referring to is:

1)    The fear that hinders you from doing God’s work because you believe Satan’s lies.

2)   The fear that stops you from stepping out on faith so you will never accomplish your goals.

3)   The fear of not joining a group or club for fear of what people might say or think about you.

The Bible states:

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

2 nd Timothy 2:7 (web)

Fear is so important to God that “Fear Not” is mentioned in the Bible 365 times and the word Fear is mentioned 500 times.

Fear can cause you to lose control and panic because you lack faith in God. You would rather be in bondage by believing Satan’s lies rather than God’s promises.

Don’t fret, there is Good News!!!

Taken from my book “The Guide to Everlasting Life.”

You do have the power to overcome fear and control your emotions.

Step 1: When you pray, ask God to help you obtain control or get rid of your fears.

Step 2: Read and meditate on the scriptures dealing with fear.

Step 3: Write down and memorize your favorite scriptures on fear. Then when fear comes into your life, quote the scripture just like Jesus did when He was tempted by Satan.

We all are afraid of something, and the world wants you to go to a doctor for help with your fear which is okay, but I would go to Dr. Jesus first and ask Him to provide you with the strength to face your fear and thank Him for doing so.

Cast your worries on Him because He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 (web)
